Essential Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom  |  February 2017

One of the many things I love about working on a beautiful, design-led magazine like ekbb is that when you are sat looking out on a bleak landscape and foreboding rain clouds, you can transport yourself to a whole other world of gorgeous interiors and impressive spaces. Which is exactly what you need on grey winter days like these, right? This issue I was particularly swept away while researching locations for our boutique bedrooms feature. The best hotels now are like mini home-fromhome suites – you can imagine designing whole bedrooms, or even a complete house scheme around them. With so many chic and clever ideas to steal, it was a job to whittle it down to the handful featured, and I now want to fit-out our master bedroom at home in at least 10 completely different ways. See Soak & Sleep on page 134. Meanwhile in the bathrooms sphere the future is looking extremely – pun unintentional – curvy. From rounded edges on vanity units to circular shapes in baths and basins, it seems we are gravitating more and more now to organic lines and softer curves to create the spa-like respite that we are all seeking in the design of our bathrooms and bedrooms at home. Turn to Lara Sargent’s Learning Curve (page 112) to learn more. Kitchens-wise, this issue is as packed as ever with brilliant inspiration from homeowners and designers alike. From a Danish-meets-New York loft fantasy in the centre of London to amazing panoramic views on the Welsh coastline, there are so many beautiful kitchens in this issue to inspire you – see page 24 onwards. Those planning a lighting scheme should take a peruse of Light Show on page 78, and if you are in the market for a new range cooker, don’t buy anything before checking out Lucy Macdonald’s round-up in Hearth of the Home over on page 98. I hope you enjoy this dreamy issue...

Best value interiors mag! Reviewed Friday, 19 July 2013
I have been planning my new kitchen and home renovation for quite some time, it seemed to be taking ages to find quality inspiration and I bought so many different magazine trying to get ideas, until I downloaded an issue of EKBB. It was brilliant, there is so much inside and now I've got plans to renovate the whole house! It's real value for money and now I've got a subscription too!
