Those words invoke in me the carbolic and dust of 1950s’ classrooms
Who said ‘History is Bunk’? Ah yes, Henry Ford, father of the car assembly line, mass production, and probably global warming and climate change. What he actually said was ‘History is more or less bunk. It’s tradition. We don’t want tradition. We want to live in the present, and the only history that is worth a tinker’s damn is the history that we make today.’ I don’t know a single family historian who’d have any truck with that assertion.
