Ancestry took advantage of the excitement at the recent RootsTech conference to announce ‘significant content additions’ at Ancestry.com
The first milestone highlighted was the completion of a multiyear project to digitise all 36 million of the USA’s available World War II young men’s draft cards, in partnership with the US National Archives and Records Administration. These cards include unique details that could be difficult to find elsewhere - including eye colour, next of kin, employer and, if applicable, why the person was exempt from the draft.
Continuing the US theme, Ancestry also announced it will be releasing more than 14 million New York City certificate indexes for birth, marriage and death records from 1862 to 1949.
