Lesser-known source of the month
The National Army Museum is a fascinating resource with an interesting website. You can view its online collections and search its books and objects, but this issue the focus is on the Irish Soldiers’ Records, which is an excellent feature of the museum’s online collection. In 1922 when the Independent Irish Free State was established there were five units of the British Army that were disbanded – The Connaught Rangers, the Leinster Regiment, the Royal Dublin Fusiliers, the Royal Irish Regiment and the Royal Munster Fusiliers.
