How to be a gay man in 2017

Will you be getting married? Our survey says…

Before anyone starts drafting their angry tweets or emailing in their hot takes, no, this isn’t GT trying to tell gay men they have to live or act a certain way. We know as well anyone that there’s no ‘one size fi ts all’ when it comes to being a gay man in the 21st century.

But with all the fuckery we’ve had to endure in 2016 – Trump! Brexit! Orlando! Victoria Wood dying! – we fi gured we could all do with setting our sights fi rmly on the future and sailing towards the brighter horizons of 2017. And what better way to do that than with an arbitrary survey?

That’s why we asked thousands of you lot to log on to and let us know who you’re going to be listening to, what you’re going to be watching, who you’re going to be fucking – and how you’re going to be doing it – who you’re going to be voting for (if we get the chance, that is…) and which issues are going to be the most important to you over the next 12 months.

Of course, we’re not saying all gay men think the same as these results – it’s just a fun snapshot of our readers, of course. But a quick glance suggests that 2017 is going to pretty much consist of us worrying about leaving the European Union, worrying about how Donald Trump is going to fuck up the world, going to Pride, drinking about the same, logging on to Grindr and listening to Years & Years.

Maybe 2017 won’t be that diff erent after all…
