All Saints

As they pull off this year’s classiest pop comeback, we chat to All Saints about friendship, nostalgia and their youthful dalliances with gay porn – naturally.

Honestly, we were thrilled when All Saints said they’d be up for chatting to us. Obviously our excitement was partly fuelled by nostalgia for the relatively innocent days of late-90s pop, when Natalie and Nicole Appleton, Mel Blatt and Shaznay Lewis combined to form the coolest girl group in the charts. But we were also super-pleased because the reunited four-piece have quietly been pulling off this year’s classiest comeback. Their awesome new album Red Flag entered the charts at number three in April, a week after they’d played their first headline show in a decade. As you can imagine, the crowd at London venue KOKO that night wasn’t exactly lacking in gents who know an Ab Fab quote or two.
