THE HEALTHY BMI RANGE
A Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25–29 puts you in the overweight range, and 30-plus is considered obese. People of Asian descent are at higher risk of type 2 diabetes and should aim for 18.5–23. BMI is a good starting point, but your waist measurement may be an even more accurate indicator of your risk of disease (read more on p17).
