DR DAWN’S medical notes…
WHEN I WAS AT MEDICAL SCHOOL, we were taught that women with endometriosis often had a tough time because of the difficulty of diagnosis. This involved undergoing an operation that used a telescope to look for deposits of womb tissue growing outside of the uterus.
There was no scan or blood test to help doctors make the diagnosis, which meant the average time from presentation to diagnosis was eight years. And even then there was no cure.
