What is it?

Zinc oxide is a white, powdery mineral used in textiles and beauty products, but its summer superpower is its ability to block sun radiation, which is why it’s called a physical sunscreen. It provides broad-spectrum protection, which means it blocks both UVB and UVA rays, making it the best sun protection possible. It’s also much less likely than chemical ingredients to break down in the bottle or on your skin. Sunscreens containing zinc oxide are also far more suitable for sensitive skin, as it’s gentle and won’t cause irritation or allergic reactions.
