Presidents don’t usually take assassination attempts lightly, but Teddy Roosevelt easily shrugged one off. On his way to speak in Wisconsin, the President was shot in the chest. Thankfully, his steel glasses case and the 50-page bullet so it didn’t pierce his lung. He remarked, “It takes more than that to kill a bull moose”, before reciting the speech in full.
