Robert Capa, born Endre Friedmann in 1913, was a Hungarian Jewish photographer. After moving to Paris to escape persecution, he found work covering the Spanish Civil War. He also photographed WWII, and is pictured on the right on D-Day. Though Capa once claimed that he was “finished with war”, he conflict and the First Indochina War. He died in Vietnam aged 40, after stepping on a land mine.
