A Simon Tomlinson answers: As a rule, mobile field shelters for personal use do not need planning permission as they are in essence ‘a temporary building ’. However, you should make the point of moving them because if they remain in one spot for too long, local authorities could argue that the structure has become ‘permanent’ by default.
