Maybe it’s because we haven’t had one in a few years, or perhaps it’s because it’s because this year’s event played host to some seriously spectacular sights… maybe it’s just because it’s Badminton! But whatever the reason, Team H&R’s still riding a wave of post-Badminton excitement as we count down the days to next one. Let’s take a look at some of our favourite moments.
1 Laura Collett’s win
It’s always exciting to see a new Badminton champion crowned – but there’s no denying that there was something super-special about Laura Collett and London 52’s victory. Why? It could be any number of reasons.
Laura lead the way from start to finish, and added just 0.4 penalties to her dressage score of 21.0 – arecord finishing score in Badminton’s 73-year history. The pair performed flawlessly throughout and it’d be easy to think the combination was simply born that way. However, their career to date hasn’t all been smooth sailing – and perhaps that’s what makes that win so much sweeter.
