New shoes
Can I use hoof boots over metal shoes? And, if so, what would be the benefit of this?

A Carole Herder answers: Generally, yes, although be sure to check with the manufacturer before you buy a pair. It might sound like it’s against the point of using hoof boots, but some styles have shock-absorbing soles that help to prevent potentially harmful vibration travelling up your horse’s legs. Boots can also prevent sole bruising in rough terrain and on hard ground. Some people also use hoof boots for shod horses who are undergoing hoof rehabilitation to give them a little extra comfort and protection while riding, training, transporting and turnout.
