A Horse&Rider answers:
Catching a horse can present problems and leaving a headcollar on may seem like the easiest option. However, the short answer is that no headcollar is ‘safe’ for turnout – although some are safer than others. If you’re having issues catching your horse, the ideal scenario is to work on this issue – with the help of an equine behaviourist if needed – and avoid a headcollar in the field if possible.
