Push on
Some of the other liveries have told me to whip my horse when he naps, but I’m worried about upsetting him more. How can I work him through the napping?

A Felicity George answers:
You’re absolutely right to be concerned about whipping your horse. It’s very likely he isn’t going forwards because he finds it difficult for some reason. Making life more challenging by using a whip compromises his welfare, damages your relationship and may create safety issues by provoking more extreme responses.
