One of the major draws of dressage is all the fancy tricks and moves, which of course everyone always wants to learn. But fun as they are, they can be hard on a horse and shouldn’t be ridden all the time. However, the fundamentals that you need to have in place in order to perform them correctly is something that can and should be worked towards at any level. Even if you aren’t quite ready to perform one-time changes into piaffe just yet, there’s no reason why you can’t start to equip your horse with the tools he’d need to complete them in the future. I’m here to give you a Grand Prix lesson, with some transferable teaching points in between.
