Horse riders have always been one of the most vulnerable groups of road users. Not only are we on board a flighty animal with thoughts and feelings of his own, but we’re also faced with plenty of drivers who have no idea about horses and what might spook them – and the repercussions it may have. In response to this, the Highway Code rules have been updated to provide better guidance to road users on how to pass those in a vulnerable position more safely.
