Brewdog, you can’t have failed to notice, is a Scottish success story on a truly massive scale. There are the beers, of course. The pubs, scattered across Europe as well as the UK and moving now into the USA with a swaggering Fraserburghian vengeance. There are restaurants, and the incessant crowdfunding to try and ‘raise enough cash’ to build the world’s first brewery-cum-hotel. More about ‘cash’ later. On-tap everflowing beer is promised in the Doghotel rooms. But only in the USA. I can’t see that being economically viable in the Broch. And the HQ is no longer in Fraserburgh. Now there is a beer factory in Ellon which looks about as craft-centric as Grangemouth’s Ineos complex.
