It’s that time of year when green thoughts turn to growing salads, but enthusiast for unusual veg, Sally Cunningham, has plans to grow something a little different this season

After my first infatuated infanticide of radishes, the welcome browntinged leaves of ‘Marvel Of Four Seasons’ lettuce which have sailed through winter without serious damage came as a welcome break. These were followed by biting land cress, the last lamb’s lettuce and a few pea shoots. Now my second and third lettuce sowings are ready to eat or transplant, and I’m setting my cucumbers.
