MAGNESIUM DEFICIENCYINTOMS

This year someone told me if you baked eggshe crumbled them and mixed them with the potting compost for tomatoes it would prevent magnesium deficiency in the leaves. This is because the calcium in the eggshells allows the plants to take up magnesium more easily. I have tried this and it appears to work. So far this season the leaves have remained a deep bottle green and the crop of ‘Shirley’ tomatoes has been exceptionally heavy.
