Knit Now  |  Knit Now 103
As we head into the summer season, we’re embracing happy colours, fun prints and all things bright and beautiful! I’m seeing rainbows everywhere this year, so I had to ask my designers for their woolly takes on the trend. Whether you choose to knit our stripy socks or Sophie McKane’s fabulous umbrella pullover – whatever the weather – you can still shine bright!
I know that some folk tend to knit a little less in the warmer months, but I just switch to smaller projects – and there’s no shortage of those in this issue. Georgie the Giraffe uses just one ball of yarn, and the Seashore Cushion is knitted in lovely summery cotton. Our cover garment – Kristen Singer’s stylish cotton top – is the perfect layering piece for sunny days, and can be knitted in no time. If you’re looking to inject some sunshine into your knits, check out some of out favourite patterns this month and check out our favourite new yarns.
Not sure what to cast on first? Grab a cuppa and a slice of cake, and have a little read before you decide. Lots of folk I’ve spoken to recently have said that they’re a bit nervous to play with colour, so this issue I’m determined to help you out. If you fancy getting adventurous with colour, you can read my top tips. For those who want to shake up their knitting even more by changing the yarn in a pattern, we’ve got an easy guide to yarn substitution. Here’s to your brighter summer ever!
Happy knitting,
Kate
