Knives Illustrated  |  Knives BG Jan/Feb 22
Each year, the January/February issue of Knives Illustrated serves as our annual buyer’s guide issue. For this issue, scores of knife companies submit their latest and greatest products to showcase in this issue. The buyer’s guide serves to provide readers with a go-to knife-shopping resource. This year, we’ve broken down the knives and tools into these categories: EDC (everyday carry), Survival/Bushcraft, Food Prep, Tactical, Hunting and Fishing, Budget, Multitools, and Accessories. Companies represented include: Spyderco, Gerber, Benchmade, SOG, Buck, CRKT, Case, Woox, Boker, Kershaw, AG Russell, Spartan, Bradford, Morakniv, Leatherman, Flexcut, Bear & Son, Al Mar, Lansky, Work Sharp, Ontario, Victorinox, Fallkniven, KA-BAR, Outdoor Edge, Havalon, ESEE, Knives of Alaska, Condor, TOPS, Jantz Supply, and Blue Ridge Knives. We are running informational articles as well. Regular contributor and survival expert Jim Cobb provides basics for beginners with his two articles. First he gives us a rundown on various blade shapes and their common purposes. Then he gives us a primer on carry options: knife sheaths and pocket clips. Custom knifemaker Jason Fry gives us valuable information on what you need to know when you consider investing in custom knives. He provides insights in what to look for to make sure the build is up to your quality standards and gives us some tips on the economics of the custom knife world.
