CAN THE RFL SORT OUT THIS FIXTURE FARCE?
IT’S great to hear that attendances are reaching record levels and this is despite the chaotic scheduling of fixtures by the RFL.
We’ve reached Round 18, which means nearly two-thirds of the season has gone.
You would expect every team to have played each other at least once, but no, Leigh Leopards have played three tough games against Wigan but haven’t yet played Saints once.
Hull FC and Leigh play eight of their last eleven games at home.
That must make budgeting difficult, not least for supporters.
Saints have had the benefit of three easy games against Salford.
I don’t know what model the RFL computer is using, but in football, the Premier League seems to manage a much more logical programme with twenty teams rather than twelve.
Overall it’s the usual RFL shambles - not so much AI, more like SNAFU, as they used to say.
