VICTORY SHOWS THE WONDER OF WALES’ YOUNGSTERS
Talking Grassroots with PHIL HODGSON
WELL done Wales -and England!
The pair have respectively topped the final tables in the Under 16 and Under 18 Four Nations championships, thanks to resounding victories over each other on Saturday, both at Halton Farnworth Hornets.
Those wins brought diverting campaigns to a close, while there was also a great deal to play for in Dublin, where Ireland and Scotland were seeking to avoid the wooden spoon at each age group.
The focus has to be on Wales and England, though, especially Wales Under 16s.
I’ve touched on this aspect before, but don’t let anyone try to tell you that there isn’t much Rugby League going on in what we used to call the Principality.
That’s far from the case and, right now, Wales are celebrating a third successive title at the younger age group, which really is phenomenal.
