LEAGUE ONE ROUND-UP
BANNED Australian halfback Cameron Brown
(above)
has left WHITEHAVEN by mutual consent.
Brown, 24, was handed a seven-match ban at the beginning of June for other contrary behaviour, ruling him out of action until the end of August.
The former Cornwall man started the year at Widnes, but left without making an appearance, and had started his spell in Cumbria well, scoring 44 points in 10 appearances before his ban.
Whitehaven have moved quickly to secure a replacement though, bringing in Rochdale youngster Joe Lowe on loan until the end of the season.
Lowe, also 24, linked up with the Hornets back in May and was previously with Swinton. He spent last season playing in the French Elite 2 Championship with Tonneins.
His arrival is timely, as another half-back, Jack Newbegin, is sidelined after failing a head injury assessment.
