DIVISION ONE
WIGAN ST JUDES remain clear at the head of the table, and have sealed promotion, following a 40-18 victory over EGREMONT RANGERS – the Saints’ ninth win on the trot.
Rangers, who had lost 34-12 in Cumbria, are a point shy of sixth-placed Oldham St Annes in the battle to make the play-offs, and never recovered from going 12-0 down to tries in the first five minutes by James Worthington and Connor Parkinson, with Danny Fallon landing the first two of his six goals.
Lachlan McDowell and Brad Long responded before the break, both scores being converted by Matt Bewsher, but those efforts were dissected by a second touchdown for Parkinson.
