HALIFAX PANTHERS moved closer to the Grand Final following a thriller of a play-off encounter, beating LONDON ROOSTERS 36-28.
It was the first match of a televised triple-header at the University of Nottingham on Saturday.
Jack Brown gave Halifax the lead after just four minutes. Rob Hawkins converted, before adding the second try six minutes later, improving it again. Brown scored their third on 14 minutes to put the score onto 16-0.
However London responded. Joe Coyd scored an unconverted try to put them back in the game, before adding the second, scoring between the sticks, impressively avoiding the tag when under pressure, before converting.
