Self-help guide
David Whitehead has recently self-published his own guide to painting better watercolour landscapes in 12 steps. David doesn’t claim to be a professional artist, but since his retirement, he has taken to painting as a serious hobby – reading about how others artists do it, watching DVDs and attending courses and workshops – all the while developing his own painting style, absorbing influences from masters and learning by his mistakes. In his book A Painter’s Dozen, David shares with us what he’s learnt along the way and I’m sure many of the problems he overcomes will resonate with readers. Divided into 12 projects, David invites you to work alongside him at your own pace and improve your watercolour painting along the way.
