After three fruitless outings in search of tigers in India’s Tadoba National Park, photographer Philip Lee Harvey managed to capture these images for our The Real Jungle Book feature (p60) on his fourth and final safari drive. ‘I was nervous we wouldn't get the shot. We heard a tigress was in the vicinity and approached her before anyone else, but she looked straight at us before disappearing into long grass.’ Guide Himanshu Bagde (right) predicted that the tiger would reappear in a pool, so Philip leapt on the roof of their 4x4 for another view. ‘A good guide makes all the difference.’
