Located in the Sava Dolinka Valley, Kranjska Gora is Slovenia’s best-known, best-equipped and most popular ski resort. It has 13 miles of pistes, the slopes of the Sava Dolinka Valley run for several miles to Rateče and Planica, making effectively one big piste, and the skiing is suited mostly to beginners and intermediates (kranjska-gora.si; Dec–Mar; day pass £23).
