Welsh rural bliss in a Gypsy caravan

Wales on Wheels

The prospect of a caravan holiday in Wales might not set everyone’s pulse racing. But chances are the Gypsy wagons of the Little Oasis, Pandy, will – a pair of handsome timber structures set among the orchards of the Monmouthshire countryside. With the borders country strewn with summer wildfowers, now’s the perfect time to pay a visit. Days amble along at a slow tempo: making friends with the inquisitive local sheep population or strolling the lower reaches of the Offa’s Dyke path (which passes close by on its journey from the top to the bottom of Wales). Clear nights should be spent in a swaying hammock looking up at the heavens over the Brecon Beacons National Park – an International Dark Sky Reserve, where low-light pollution makes for spectacularly starry skies.
