New National Museum of Scotland galleries will showcase artefacts from Asia and Ancient Egypt

A suit of samurai armour, Queen Nefertiti’s gold ring and this 19th-century Japanese woodblock print of two kabuki actors are just three of the intriguing exhibits that are to go on show at the National Museum of Scotland this month. Nearly half the exhibits have never been displayed before, so it's a unique opportunity to get a first glimpse of a vanished world. Free entry;
