The main transit hub for the Dalmatian coast and, just of it, the popular islands of Hvar, Brac and Vis, Split is oten overlooked as a destination in its own right. But stay longer in the city and you’ll find it hard to resist its colonnaded courtyards and stone-paved streets, lined with buzzy cafés.
