Let the good times roll with a Cajun feast - in London

New Orleans-style egg, bacon, grits and sausage brunch at Slap Ya Papa

Wandering among Victorian railway arches generally yields encounters with abandoned shopping trolleys and assorted rodents. One notable exception to this rule is The Vaults – an artistic event space underneath London Waterloo station, which this September hosts a pop-uprestaurant dedicated to Cajun cooking. Hosted in a candlelit dining room strewn with artfully mismatched furniture, the eccentrically named Slap Ya Papa dining club offers visitors a crash course in Louisiana cuisine. Pulled pork, cornbread, grits and shrimp salad count among New Orleans-inspired specialities on the set menu, all dished out to the sweet accompaniment of soul music performances (and, of course, the distant rumble of the 20.32 to Guildford).
