A cigar break in Havana and more images from around the world


Puff daddies


We’d been in Cuba for about a week when we arrived in Trinidad. A stark contrast to Havana, Trinidad quickly became my favourite place in the country. It provided the perfect blend of laid-back Cuban atmosphere, whilst being vibrant and full of life. It’s one of those places that you just mull around and embrace the Cuban lifestyle, taking some time out for the odd mojito (or two) along the way. Venturing past the main streets one day, we came across these three men sat outside a home, putting the world to rights with their Cuban cigars. They were kind enough to let me take this picture.

Trinidad was founded in 1514, and in later centuries became a prosperous sugar trading centre – today, tobacco processing is the main industry
