Abbey Road, February 1968
John, George and Paul preparing to howl out the backing vocals for Hey Bulldog. The track was written and recorded while The Beatles were being filmed for a promotional film for Lady Madonna and was included on the soundtrack to the Yellow Submarine movie.
The song started life as ‘Hey Bullfrog’, based on a few ideas sketched out by John, and morphed into its canine incarnation after Paul added some barking to the vocals.
