Amaverick illustrator, Robert Crumb’s work is subversive, ingeniously crafted and uniquely identifiable. The most influential and arguably controversial comic book artist of his generation, he helped define popular culture during the late 60s and 70s. Founder of the underground Zap Comics, Crumb’s popularity sprang not only from his eye-catching visuals but also the cartoon narratives, rife withscathing wit, political and social satire, and an underlying darkness. Besides his innumerable contributions to comics, Crumb has worked on nearly 100 album sleeves.
