The government has ordered an inquiry into care provision in mental health inpatient units in England, following a number of scandals such as the BBC Panorama investigation into the Edenfield centre in Manchester late last year.
The review was announced by mental health minister Maria Caulfield (pictured), in a written ministerial statement to parliament.
