Exercise Drawn up for inspection by the press, these tanks of the Fife & Forfar Yeomanry show a typical British armoured unit on the early war years. All appear to be Mk I tanks with the flat-style wheels and exposed exhaust silencers on the trackguards between the third and last wheels, most have the No 3 Mk I mounting for the 2pdr and Besa machine gun with some fitted with the No 3 Mk II mounting with its bulbous armoured cover. They also have the Bren light machine gun on its Lakeman mounting for anti-aircraft defence.
NOTES:
Some tanks have had a long and successful career, others have seen short but still successful service while some have come and gone and are now almost forgotten. One of these is the Covenanter.
