Being a fan of military vehicles with a British flavour, I recently obtained a kit that somehow dropped off my radar despite being present on the market for more than 10 years: the Humber Scout Car from Bronco Models. The box contents appeared encouraging enough to begin the construction immediately.
My first step was to assemble the gearbox fairing.
The reason for this was simple: the hull interior was riddled with deep ejector pin marks, whilst dry fitting the gearbox fairing allowed me to determine which moulding flaws will be covered by the latter and therefore won’t require filling and sanding.
The latter process took me more than 2 hours. I used Tamiya Basic Putty as the filler.
Afterwards I could install the crew compartment’s equipment. Only the seats and radio were left separate for easier painting.
The kit featured full interior, including the engine compartment. The engine was fairly nicely detailed and although I was not going to use it in this kit, I decided to build it and keep it for another project.
