NEO STUG

Over the past few years there has been a distinct trend for new kits to be released with full interiors. This kit contains all parts & sprues from the previous StuG. III Ausf. E Kit 6688. There are no new plastic parts and even the etched fret is the same. However, even though 6688 came with a detailed interior, it was missing the driver’s seats and transmission. That is rectified here, and the DS Tracks are replaced by Neo items.

One thing that I cannot fault Dragon for is the quality of their moulding and this kit is no exception. It is crawling with fine detail and all plastic parts are perfectly moulded with no flaws on my example. Knock-out pin marks are in places that will not be visible on the finished model however Dragon’s use of lots of little pips does increase the cleaning up time. Of those kits that I have built previously the only comment I can make is be careful in fitting the rear deck to the lower hull, but it should be a straightforward build. Starting with the lower hull, the hull consists of a large single piece tub with excellent detail on the exterior and interior surfaces including hull bottom detail for various access hatches and ports.
