IBG 1:35 Skoda 100mm vz 14/19 Howitzer GCE • Kit No. 35025
With the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the great Skoda factories remained in the territory of the new Czechoslovakia, modernising the vz 14 for which they modified the length and calibre of the piece and increasing its scope. This version received the denomination of Houfnice 100 vz 14/19 forming part of the arsenal of the army.
In February 1937, four of these howitzers arrived at the port of Alicante aboard the cargo ship Sarkani. A battery was formed and assigned throughout the war to the Centre Republican Army. The Italian twin, the Obice da 100/17 model 14, was available in much greater numbers on the rebel side in the Spanish conflict.
At the end of the 1920s and as part of the plans to industrialize the USSR, contacts were established with American manufacturers in order to buy the necessary licenses to manufacture the Caterpillar tractor.
