Exercise AUSTERE WOLF 22 is a joint exercise which will see Land, Air, and Maritime working together to collectively rehearse and experiment with specialist training. The exercise serials will demonstrate and test the Armed Forces’ ability to land in an unfamiliar environment in austere conditions, which could be applied in a range of real-world scenarios from War Fighting to Disaster Relief and Humanitarian Aid.
The exercise will simulate a contested beachhead being seized by Commando Forces, who then push inland and allow Field Army to begin its landing. Conducted using Strategic Shipping and Navy Units deployed on Operations in the Mediterranean, the Army’s Ship-to-Shore capability will deliver Field Army Logistic and Engineering units ashore once the beachhead is cleared to build up and project more forces to relieve the Commandos. This includes the inload of personnel, fuel, vehicles and equipment, using a combination of Landing Craft, Vessels and Rotary assets.
