here’s an old saying that the simpler the approach, the better it is. As an example, I have been working on a quite superb 1:48 scale 3d print of a Japanese type 97 and spent a fair bit of time on the tank commander for the build, trying all sorts of posing but when complete, I needed another figure to tell a simple story.
As we all know, the pointing figure is a pose that has been done to death, but by the same token it is an effective tool to tell a story. In this case I wanted the tank to be depicted in the Malayan campaign and more specifically in the attack at Slim River. The Japanese had one great advantage during this campaign and that was the ability to operate off-road while the Commonwealth forces were for the most part road-bound.
