Before I start this review, I have to declare up front that I am a fan of Manel Arin’s work and this set is no different! The sculpting, pose and form is just superb. So what do you get? The subjects come packaged in the usual plastic blister pack with a photo of the figures assembled on the information card. On opening you find 6 beautifully cast pieces in light grey resin depicting two Wehrmacht soldiers in what appears to be the long M40 greatcoat with collars turned up and both wearing head toques, steel helmets and jackboots. All the usual field gear is present, except for a change both figures are carrying rucksacks - a nice touch I thought.
One figure is armed with an MP-40 while his mate is shouldering a MG-34. The machine gunner has his hand moulded to the pistol grip which then fits neatly into the greatcoat sleeve, again, a nice touch. Nothing upsets the visual realism of a figure more than when their hands and fingers seem to hovering around the weapon or object they are meant to be carrying - abit like hovering stowage on a tank!
If WWII German winter subjects are your thing, go out and grab a set! They are that good, they make you feel cold just looking at them and would make a wonderful addition to a winter diorama or vignette.
