From time to time I sometimes contemplate when looking at others’ work and comparing it to my own, I feel I’m simply not good enough.
I know I’m not alone here and believe it’s simply a product of the world we live in today as we are continually bombarded with incredibly finished and presented models in every conceivable form. The standard now has never been higher, but that’s not what it is all about really. We live in a world where every model we make demands to be exceptional and that in turn demotivates many, including myself on occasion. It’s okay to have a so-called standard but maybe all of our expectations need to be kept in check.
I know a lot of modelers that produce seemly outstanding results every time but here’s the rub - what you’re NOT seeing is all their average or failed attempts. It is like watching YouTube videos where you see amazing stunts being done and ask yourself, how did they do that? Well, if your privileged enough to see the outtakes you often see hundred attempts at the same stunt to produce the amazing vision you have just seen.
