The Ostketten track was developed in 1944 primality for the Panzer III and IV series of German tanks as the track teeth spacing were essentially the same they differed from the earlier iteration Winterketten track with its oblong track extensions and were a wider cast track altogether.
I believe this is the first time they have been offered in 1:48 scale. Quick, thin, highly detailed, and accurate pretty much sums up this new 1:48 snap track from Quick Tracks.
I’ve reviewed a series of Quick Tracks some time ago and found them to be highly detailed, easy to put together and having no clean-up necessary. With these new ones they seem to have changed the print material to a dark grey colour which is pleasing as it makes the painting much easier.
The tracks are scale accurate in terms of shape and mass. I have found the easiest way to put them together is to lay them flat and press fit from the top down with the flat end of, in my case a small flat end screwdriver. The tolerances are so fine that they are semi rigid when assembled which allows for easy positioning of track sag if you are so inclined.
