EXERCISE DANUBE STRIKE

An American Joint Tactical Air Controller (JTAC) stands on a British Jackal to guide in the Canadian Air Force, with Romanian ABC-79M during the exercise.

C Company of 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment commenced Ex DANUBE STRIKE by conducting a Tactical Road Move from Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria, to Babadag Training Area, Romania. This move included a large-scale crossing of the Danube River and rerouting through Romania’s capital, Bucharest.

The 2-day move spanned 570km across two NATO Allies, involving armoured platforms (including 10 Foxhounds and 5 Jackals) and 88 personnel. At Babadag Training Area.
