Motoring Classics Magazine

4 issues per year View Reviews   |   Write Review Subscribe for free Welcome to Motoring Classics, the Free-Of-Charge quarterly magazine published by British Motor Heritage (BMH), that’s available in both app and printed formats. It is aimed firmly at you – the classic car enthusiast - though we make no apology for the occasional article on historic aircraft and motorcycles, as we know many of you harbour an interest in those too. A typical issue features a car marque of the past (eg Gordon Keeble, Turner, Gilbern), and a character who’s been notably influential within the scene (eg Duncan Hamilton, Sir William Morris, Denis Jenkinson). We also aim to include some instructive pieces and have been known to touch on such emotive subjects as tyres, oils, fuels, bodywork care, Connollising, classic auctions, model collecting etc. We aim to keep abreast of the classic racing scene too, courtesy of BMH’s Managing Director John Yea, who ably campaigns an MGB in a number of the key historic series. Motoring Classics  |  Summer 2019

We celebrate the wacky but wonderful 27-litre V12 Merlin engined creations of the late Paul Jameson then look more sensibly at an endeavour to train our younger drivers; the Under 17 Car Club exist to set youngsters on the right path from the moment they slip behind the wheel.

From a short list British coach-builders of the past we review the many and varied products of Thomas Harrington. Our Missing Moniker is Jensen, a company successful at building vehicles both for themselves and other manufacturers. For our Classic Character we have opted for Billy Cotton. Immortalised by his catch phrase ‘Wakey Wakey’, a great band leader of his day and whose many other hobbies included motorsport.

Our magazine apps run on all iPad and iPhone devices running iOS 11.0 or above, Android should be: Android 4.4 or above , Fire Tablet (Gen 3) or above (currently 9th and 10th generation devices are not compatible), and PC and Macs with a html5 compatible browser.

However for iOS we recommend an iPad Air/iPhone 5s or better for performance and stability. Earlier models with lower processor and RAM specifications may experience slower page rendering and occasional app crashes which are outside of our control.
